The Texas Hill Country is the perfect place for a weekend escape. The quaint towns throughout the Hill Country offer wonderful amenities to recharge and relax. There are quite a few lodging options so we narrowed down and listed a few of our favorites below. Whether you are looking for a romantic getaway or weekend trip with the girls, the Hill Country has a place for you to stay. And don’t forget to tell them The Scout Guide sent you!

COMFORT

Camp Comfort (601 Water Street). A funky, cool B&B set on the grounds of a converted bowling alley. With a mix of accommodation types including a beautiful airstream trailer, cabins, and “alley rooms”, there is truly a space for everyone.

Hotel Giles (717 High Street). This historic B&B dates back to 1880 and features just four suites, which pretty much guarantees your stay to be calm and relaxing without the hustle and bustle of a big hotel property.

Meyer Inn on Cypress Creek (845 High Street). Set at the edge of Comfort’s historic district, this wooded retreat provides a slice of relaxation and peace. Hang out by the pool, lounge in a riverfront Adirondack chair or try your hand at fishing in Cypress Creek.

GRUENE

Gruene Mansion Inn (1275 Gruene Road). A stay at this stately Southern home is like stepping back in history, but with all the modern conveniences one could desire. Walking distance to great shopping, fabulous restaurants and Gruene Hall, the historic Texas-style dance hall with live music

FREDERICKSBURG

Hoffman Haus (608 East Creek Street). A breathtaking property close to Main Street. Elegant decor and wonderful food will transport you to the French Countryside. Fully unwind at the on-site spa or join chef-owner Leslie Washburne for one of her excellent cooking classes.

Ololo (161 Smokehouse Road). A collection of four, well-appointed guest homes that surround an ancient cedar tree. Gather a group of friends and rent them all or choose your favorite bungalow for a romantic getaway.

Settlers Crossing (104 Settlers Crossing Road). Rustic retreat meets modern luxury at Settlers Crossing. Set on a picturesque 35 acres, delight in open pastures, flower gardens, and the surrounding towering oak trees.

Stonewall Motor Lodge (14818 US-290). Enjoy this retro 1960’s motel in the heart of the 290 Wine Trail that was featured in Condé Nast Traveler as one of the eight classic motor lodges to visit in the U.S.

The Evers House (107 North Washington Street). A comfortable and romantic B&B conveniently located just steps from Main Street. Enjoy breakfast brought right to your room every morning without ever having to remove your complimentary terry cloth bathrobe.

The Trueheart Hotel (201 Llano Street). A new and buzzy 13-room hotel in historic Fredericksburg. These homey, country-chic cottages will make you feel right at home as soon as you arrive.

The Winchester Lodge (415 East Austin Street). A block away from downtown Fredericksburg, these comfortable suites provide privacy and relaxation while outdoor spaces create a lush Texan atmosphere. Added bonus? The delicious breakfast baskets delivered to your door.

Country Inn & Cottages (1644 US-290). Clean, quiet, and cozy, accommodations include a room at the inn or a stay at one of the properties cottages.

INGRAM

Casa Blanca (1100 TX-39). A private property with multiple rentals, set on a scenic 11 acres fronting the Guadalupe River. The main house can accommodate up to 16 guests and is a superb setting for large family vacations, events and more.

NEW BRAUNFELS

Prince Solms Inn (100 Liebscher Drive). Built in 1898, this historic building now boasts a trendy, newly updated inn. While there, don’t miss out on an expertly crafted cocktail from the mixologist behind the Inn’s bar, Sidecar.

Sophie’s Gasthaus (487 West San Antonio Street). A boutique property rental, right downtown. Recently renovated with a nod to Germanic architecture. Enjoy amenities like the outdoor pool, the gardens and a fire pit.
